We as a society really need to stop romanticizing the idea of “needing” romantic partners and “not being able to live without them” because it is incredibly unhealthy and leads people to wind up in unhealthy situations of dependency or feeling dependent and not thinking to change that mindset because it seems romantic

can we please add that this is also not healthy for family members or for friends either?

Just because someone is in a relationship with a person of the same gender does not mean they’re gay!

Assuming so and labeling a couple as “straight” or “gay” is shitty because it erases people with bi/pan/queer/other polysexual identities!

and don’t assume someone who is in no relationship at all is doing so because they just “can’t find the right person.”

I need to get this beautiful old console radio out of my apartment reet quick. It’s all tubes in the back, and the dates I could find place it in the late 1930’s. There’s wood inlay and scrolling and all kinds of sweetness on the console so it’s also fancy furniture.

I don’t know if it works, I don’t know what it’s good for, I just know it’s beautiful and if I leave it in the alley it’ll get smashed up for scrap. I want it to have a loving home. I don’t have the space or time to deal with it properly right now.

Anybody?

The “Because of Them, We Can…” project started out as a photo campaign that I launched during Black History Month. The goal was to inspire and empower our kids to be great by connecting the dots between them and the individuals past and present who have blazed and continue to blaze trails.

As the month progressed, what I once believed was confirmed - 28 days wasn’t enough.

As such, I extended the project for a full 365 days. Each day a photo is released via social media - Facebook, Twitter, Instagram.

The feedback has been amazing, but the biggest request has been for a book that includes all 365 images. I could go the publisher route, but I truly believe that we can fund this movement. Here’s where the Kickstarter comes in. Funding this project would allow me to self publish a high quality, hard cover art book that will serve as a source of inspiration and education for all who come across it.
